John Krasinski and Emily Blunt's supernatural thriller, A Quiet Place, arrives in April.
There’s something special about co-starring spouses, and Hollywood couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will try their hand at it in the upcoming Paramount/Platinum Dunes supernatural thriller, A Quiet Place.
Along with sharing screen duties with his talented wife, former Office star Krasinski will also write and direct A Quiet Place. Here is what you need to know.
New Trailer Emerges for A Quiet Place
Paramount Pictures dropped a new trailer for A Quiet Place on Monday (February 12), which reveals some new footage (like a hideous looking arm popping up behind Blunt in the bathtub) but still keeps most of the major plot points a mystery. For example, as we saw in the Super Bowl spot last week, this actually seems to be some sort of post-apocalyptic thriller and not the more straightforward horror tale it was initially teased as.
The beginning of the trailer features Emily Blunt staring at multiple headlines and broadcasts about some sort of mass cataclysm that has defeated the U.S. military and causing casualties in the hundreds of thousands. Later, she and Krasinski and their family are glimpsed walking through an abandoned town, so it seems that whatever is after them is not supernatural in nature but possibly extra-terrestrial.
No doubt we’ll find out the answer when A Quiet Place opens on April 6…for now, enjoy the creepy new trailer.

A Quiet Place Story Details
The plot details are vague, but we know that the film focuses on a family living in a farm tormented by supernatural forces. Apparently monstrous entities will hunt any creature that makes noise on this land, therefore the family in question will only survive if they communicate solely by sign language, and if they erase all aural communication.
Here is the intentionally short synopsis from the film’s SXSW debut:
If they can’t hear you, they can’t hunt you.
A Quiet Place Cast and Crew
In addition to directing and starring in the film, John Krasinski co-wrote the picture with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. In the movie, Krasinski will play the patriarch of a family who is said to be something of a “survivalist.” His onscreen wife will is also played by his real, Oscar nominated spouse, Emily Blunt. Blunt’s fictional mother also lives on the farm and is focused on making sure that even in extreme conditions, her children have a future. This includes raising a son (Noah Jupe) to be kind and considerate… and quiet. This extends further to their deaf daughter played by Millicent Simmonds, who is in actuality deaf herself in real life. She also appeared in Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck last year.
Michael Bay is producing along with Platinum Dunes duo Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Executive producing is Krasinski and his Sunday Night partner Allyson Seeger in tandem with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who worked on an earlier draft of the screenplay.
