Groundhog Day back on February 2 was our most reliable and obviously scientific barometer of how far away winter is. Well, the new releases for HBO in March in the most reliable metric for how close the 2018 TV season is.

Sure, the TV season has technically started. But has it really fully started without the debut of another season of Silicon Valley? That, my friends, is what marks the true beginning of the 2018 TV calendar. And in this calendar, HBO has even added in the Bill Hader as an assassin comedy Barry.

Film-wise, HBO Now and HBO Go users are getting a big boost in March. Most buzzed about comedy of 2017 Girls Trip will be arriving on March 1. As will the not as buzzed about but almost equally as important to our nerdy interests: Alien: Covenant.

Of course, all of that is burying the lead for a sizeable portion of our readership. Die Hard…yes, Die Hard is coming to HBO in March. Take a two-hour break from assuring the Internet that it is, indeed, a Christmas movie and give it a watch.
